Calculators

A calculator is only useful if you trust the number it returns, so each of these shows the formula or method it uses. Results are estimates for general information — they are not financial or medical advice.

Loans and investing

Compare on total interest, not monthly payment — a longer term always lowers the monthly figure and always costs more overall. The Compound Interest and SIP calculators model growth over time; the Inflation calculator tells you what those future numbers are actually worth.

Business, pricing and pay

Margin and Profit look similar but answer opposite questions: margin asks what percentage of the sale price is profit, profit asks for the absolute amount. Break-Even tells you the volume needed to cover fixed costs. The tax calculators handle indirect tax on a transaction.

Health and fitness

BMI is a population-level screen with well-known limits — it ignores muscle mass and body composition, which is why the Body Fat calculator is the better measure for anyone who trains. The TDEE and Macro calculators build on the Calorie calculator’s output, so run Calorie first.

Everyday and maths

Percentage covers increases, decreases and percentage-of in one place. The Scientific calculator is for anything the others do not handle. Concrete, Stair and Lumber are construction estimators that include the wastage allowance.

Estimates, not financial advice

These results are estimates for general information only. They are not financial, tax, investment or legal advice. Real figures depend on your provider, jurisdiction and personal circumstances. Confirm important decisions with a qualified professional.
