Is this budget tracker really free and private?
Yes. There is no signup and no account. Every transaction you add is stored only in your own browser's local storage. Nothing is uploaded to a server, so your financial data never leaves your device.
Can I track income and expenses separately?
Yes. When you add a transaction you choose Income or Expense. Income categories include Salary, Freelance, Investment, and more. Expense categories include Housing, Food, Transport, Utilities, Entertainment, and others.
How does the category breakdown work?
Each month the tracker totals your expenses by category and shows a pie chart and a sorted list with the percentage each category represents of your total spending. This makes it easy to see where your money is going.
What are savings goals for?
Add a goal with a target amount and increment the saved balance as you put money aside. The tracker shows your progress as a percentage so you can stay motivated.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Click Export CSV to download the transactions for the currently-selected month as a CSV file you can open in Excel, Google Sheets, or Apple Numbers.
Does it work across multiple months?
Yes. Use the month and year selectors to view any month. All transactions remain stored, so you can switch between months and review past spending.
